Food and Fund request to support the NEAR Food Shelf

 

NEAR needs your help to provide food support to our community. 

 

Minnesota's charitable food system (food shelves and food banks, meal programs, etc.) continues to run at capacity. The Covid-19 pandemic has exacerbated this, making it critical to focus on creating a more just and equitable food system to meet the needs of our clients. Currently, the food rescue partners that NEAR depends on have had to scale back on their food donations. To offset this, we purchase specific food items that we need in order to serve our clients.

 

Both food and monetary donations will be greatly appreciated:

- Monetary donations can also be made securely on the NEAR Food Shelf homepage, click on the Give to the Max icon.

- Non-perishable food and non-food items can be delivered to the NEAR Food Shelf receiving door in the rear of the building, Monday thru Friday from 8:30am to 10:30am and in the afternoons before 3pm. Please check in with the front desk volunteer at the side entrance door when you arrive for further instructions.

 

Please see the list below for the most needed items:

Flour, Sugar, Cooking oil, Peanut Butter, Jam & Jelly, Pasta, Canned Pasta Sauce, canned chicken, baby food, personal hygiene products, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, body soap, shampoo, conditioner, bath tissue, facial tissue and feminine products.
